Gilgamesh, Camdem Town, London

Post-exam, a close girlfriend suggested to have a girls' night out and chose this fab restaurant in Camden Town. Hese is an escalator to take you from Camden Town street direct to the entance of the restaurant, how cool is that!

The decor of the restaurant is unique and impeccable. I think I read about this restaurant on a newspaper review which mentioned about the ridiculous amount of money the owner of this restaurant spent on the decor - quite true!

The style of the of food is fusion, which also means that the restaurant is not specialise is any kind of food - so don't expect to have authentic dim sum or sushi etc.

We just ordered what we like from the menu. It's vegatable sushi. This one is quite special, can't remember what's called but it definitely contains roast duck strips.

Spider rolls rather nice!

Order scallop Siu Mai but the waitress stupidly brought Prawn Har Gau. It's nice, but Siu Mai is still my favourite dim sum.

Ordered smoked monkfish, spicy broth, choi sum, holy basil with steamed jasmine rice for main. It's quite Thai style but....er....none of us actually like it.

For dessert, we had chocolate fondant and mango mousse. Chocolate fondant came with v nice Japanese green tea ice cream and mango flavor sorbet came with mango mousse. The decoration of the dessert is rather creative.

We also had a bottle of white win plus cocktail each with dessert. The bill came for 138 included 12.5% service charge, not exactly that expensive but I wouldn't say it's cheap as well.

Went to the bar had another bottle of wine. aha!

Love the atmosphere, quite chill and the service is rather nice. Would like to return for drink but probably not for the food. However, the only problem for is that the restaurant is too far for me - I'm a west girl!
